About us
How it was born
We are migrants, we love books and we know the feeling of not finding a good selection of books in your own language locally.
That is why the founder - Vicky Marin - started Migrante Libros as a small community library in 2025 in Maastricht, to share her own collection of books for all ages in Spanish, Italian, and English, and to build a sense of community through literary activities.
Thanks to financing by Gemeente Maastricht burgerbegroting 2026/2027, the collection of books in Spanish and Italian will be enlarged and we can offer a series of activities for children and adults in collaboration with Bibliotheek Maastricht in Centre Ceramique
Why we do it
Because we want to
- Offer migrant readers the opportunity to have access to books in Spanish, Italian, and English in Maastricht and introduce locals to great reads in these languages
- Encourage improvement of family languages among the children of migrant families through books and literary activities.
- Build a sense of community around our activities
How we do it
- We lend books from our collection through a library membership .
- We offer literary activities for children and adults in Spanish and Italian . Check out our activities sections.
