Books in Spanish, Italian and English in Maastricht
We are migrants, we love books and we know the feeling of not finding a good selection of books in your own language locally. That's why we're bringing to Maastricht the joy of discovering great reads for all ages in Spanish, Italian, and English, while also building a community through our activities in these languages
Why we do it
Because we want to
- Offer migrant readers the opportunity to have access to books in Spanish, Italian, and English in Maastricht and introduce locals to great reads in these languages
- Encourage improvement of family languages among the children of migrant families through books and activities in Spanish, Italian, and English.
- Build a sense of community around our activities
How we do it
- We lend books from our collection through a library membership for a small fee. Check out our membership options.
- We plan to start selling books in Spanish and Italian in the near future. We will keep you updated on how and when this will be available
- We offer bookish activities for children, teens and adults in Spanish, Italian and English. Check out our activities section.
Membership
We offer four types of membership.
- Free reader any age: € 3 registration fee + € 2,50 per every book you borrow (Max . 2 weeks per book)
- Children: € 20 for six months. Borrow 2 books every two weeks
- Adults: € 20 for six months. Borrow 2 books per month
- Family: € 30 for six months. Borrow 2 adult books per month + 4 children/teen books every two weeks
Once you are a member you can:
- Visit our cozy library during opening hours, browse the shelves, choose what you want borrow, and enjoy a coffee with the owner if you like
- Browse our collection online, select the books you wish to borrow, and contact us to reserve them either for pickup at our space or home delivery for an additional fee of € 1

Support us
Membership fees and money collected from paid activities are used to expand the collection and keep our library running. Since we aim to keep these fees low to build a large community of readers, we appeal to the generosity of those who like this project to help enrich our collection. How can you contribute?
Donate Books
Donate books in Spanish, Italian or English for any age group that you no longer wish to keep at home. The books should be in good condition and ones you would recommend, as we don’t want to become a place for discarding low-quality items. If you want to donate books contact us.
Sponsor a Book
View our wish lists by clicking the button below . Choose a book you'd like to sponsor and contact us with your selection. We will order the book. Upon arrival, we deliver it to you and you pay us the commercial price. You keep the book for two weeks before returning it to become part of the Migrante Libros collection.
Participate in "The Shelf of..."
Set up your own shelf in our library to share with other members. If you’d like to share some of your books without donating them, we’d be happy to host a small shelf with your collection and manage the lending – "The Shelf of [Your Name]." You can retrieve your books or rotate them as you wish. If you want to parcipate in "The Shelf of", contact us.

Morning silent reading for Mums
Lettura animata per bambini IT
A circle of 3 to 6 autonomous readers aged 8+. Each reader chooses a different book, and we meet in the circle to discuss the books. This approach respects the children's freedom of choice and encourages curiosity about new readings. We are currently in the process of forming the groups. There will be circles in Spanish and Italian. If you are interested in enrolling your child, please contact us.

Morning silent reading for Mums
This activity is designed for women who love reading but find it difficult to make time for it after becoming mothers. We offer a calm and pleasant space for 45 minutes of reading a book you bring or borrow from our collection. Afterwards, there will be time and space to chat and enjoy coffee or tea.
When: Every Wednesday 9am - 10:30. Just show up. No registration needed.
Price: Free (you can leave a small donation to the library if you wish).
