Books are lent only to members for the period established in the respective membership type. See the membership options in the membership section of our website. Members will receive a Library Card.
In order to process a membership request we require the future member's first and last name, current post address, current phone number, email address and signed statement of agreement to Library Rules. We only use this information to keep track of our books, ensure their return, and, optionally, to send library news.
Membership is non-transferrable. Only the cardholder (individual or member of card holding family) can check out items.
The library reserves the right to withdraw membership on the basis of a member’s failure to comply with the library rules.
Borrowing and Returning
Members may be required to present their library cards in order to borrow books.
A book may be renewed once via email or Whatsapp message by the book's due date, if another member has not requested the item.
The fine for an overdue book is € 2,5 per overdue week or part thereof. The maximum fine is € 10 per item. After that, the member is required to pay the commercial price of the book (minus the € 10 already paid) so it can be replaced.
A member can reserve a book currently checked out by another member in person, via email or Whatsapp message. The librarian will notify the member as soon as the book becomes available.
If an item is lost or severely damaged (at the librarian’s discretion), the member will pay the library the item’s current commercial price so that it can be replaced. This includes shipping, if shipping is necessary.
